Regeneration Art Project’s first intiative: RE/Generation Art Fest, which kicked off with a grand opening on September 4, 2024 in Uzbekistan’s capital, Tashkent. Dedicated to young creatives, the RE/Generation Art Fest was an unprecedented event for art lovers in Central Asia.
The visionary behind the project was Lola Tillyaeva, art connoisseur, humanitarian and longtime supporter of creative initiatives. The Art Fest was curated by renowned Uzbek artist Bobur Ismailov.
The Fest was held in the Ankor Karting Arena and spanned 6000 square meters.
Over 70 young creatives from all corners of Uzbekistan took part, representing a major cross-section of the country’s contemporary art scene.
The large-scale multidisciplinary exhibition featured more than 600 works of art, including over 300 easel works, over 50 graphics and over 200 photographs, as well as installations and digital art. Entrance was free of charge.
Alongside the impressive static exhibition, the festival featured a lively program of performance and music, including original work by young Uzbek DJs and singers.
A key task of the RE/Generation Art Fest was to create a detailed database about the participants and their artworks, including artists' biographies plus annotations to their works. Professional art historians joined the festival team, with all materials prepared in three languages: Russian, English and Uzbek.
Another highlight was the Fest’s interactive educational programme featuring lectures and panel discussions with art historians, gallerists and patrons. These meetings became a platform for sharing experience, offering artists and visitors the chance to learn about contemporary art, current trends, and the intricacies of the art market.
RE\Generation Art Fest ran for 10 days and welcomed over 8000 visitors.
Regeneration Art Project’s second initiative: Regeneration Art Gallery. Located on Hamid Alimjan Square in central Tashkent in an iconic building that has become a symbol of Tashkent’s modernism, the Gallery aims to popularise and showcase contemporary Uzbek art. Here, art and architecture harmoniously combine in an inspiring atmosphere for creativity and self-expression
Regeneration Art Gallery — a unique space where visitors can get to know the work of up-and-coming Uzbek artists.
More than a venue for art exhibitions, the Gallery serves as a creative hub, hosting lectures and masterclasses by art critics and leading art personalities, set to become a vibrant platform for the development of the artistic community and exchange of ideas.
Regeneration Art Project’s 3rd initiative: REGENERATION ART SPACE. Instigated and inspired by Lola Tillyaeva SPACE is a fabulous new venue in downtown Tashkent that opened on December 4, 2024 in collaboration with Tashkent City Mall.
